Welcome to the Google Site regarding the transition of misdemeanor probation oversight from CMPAC to the Georgia Department of Community Supervision.  The purpose of this site is to provide accurate, consistent and up-to-date information for all stakeholders regarding developments pertaining to misdemeanor probation oversight.

MPOU

Misdemeanor Probation Oversight Unit


The Misdemeanor Probation Oversight Unit (MPOU) is authorized to register misdemeanor probation entities and individuals, conduct reviews to determine compliance and investigate potential violations of laws and/or rules.  MPOU, established within DCS, implements rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Community Supervision, and develops processes for registration and compliance of providers and their staff.


Mission:

Evaluate, educate and regulate misdemeanor probation providers to ensure compliance with Georgia law, Board Rules and policies, as well as promote professional supervision practices as the providers serve the courts and citizens of Georgia and encourage the success of those individuals under supervision.


THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SUPERVISION IS THE SOLE ENTITY RESPONSIBLE FOR ENFORCEMENT OF DCS RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING MISDEMEANOR PROBATION OVERSIGHT PROMULGATED BY THE DCS BOARD (OCGA 42-8-100 THROUGH 109)
